"The images selected for The New Now: 2021 reflect the undeniably transformative nature of the last year. Working through this “Pandemic Age”, many of these artists began experimenting with new ways of making, either by pushing their photographic practices in different directions with new techniques or materials, or by simply focusing on aspects of their everyday lives that had previously gone unexplored. Despite the harm caused by COVID-19, the creative resilience depicted in these photo-based works is inspiring."
